Vacation Bible School 2012

Vacation Bible School is back… and we are excited to continue this year with our tropical theme… “Adventures on Promise Island.” What a great opportunity for you to introduce your children to God’s word while having fun and meeting new friends. Children will play games, sing, dance, make crafts, enjoy snacks and study age appropriate facts that God wants us to know, so we can be more like Jesus.

VBS will take place nightly from 6:00PM – 8:00PM starting Monday, July 23rd through Friday, July 27th. VBS Closing Ceremonies are scheduled for Sunday, July 29th at the 11:00 service, where the children will perform song routines and quote Bible verses studied. We hope you’ll join us for this very enjoyable and rewarding ceremony.

All children ages 4-12 are welcome to attend, to register:

  1. Call (321) 474-6907
  2. In person July 14th at the Grant Community Center. 11:00AM – 2:00 during our Community Fun Day.
  3. Send an email with the following information to cbc@thelighthouseofthecommunity.com:
    • Parents name

Community Fun Day

Fishing Contest and Fish Fry

Saturday the 25th is the second and final day of the fishing tournament.  It’s guys versus girls.  The contest ends with a fish fry on Saturday evening.  Bring your fish already cleaned to the weigh in at 5:00.

And breakfast at Loreens is still on for the 25th before you go out.

Church News Bulletin

Welcome to God’s House

  • If you are crafty, we’ve got a place for you.  Thursday mornings from 10:00 AM – 12:00 here at the Church.
  • You are missed at the dinner table.  Wednesdays 6:00 PM.
  • Movie night this Friday (Jan 20th) at 6:00 PM.
  • The food basket needs food.  Please help.
  • Pray for Our Church and those on the Prayer list.  Our Church has financial needs just as your home does.

Bible Reading Plan

Feeling somewhat inspired by a friend that had just recently finished reading the entire bible, and the need for a new years resolution for 2012, I decided I should try to read the Bible each day.  All of it.  I found a reading plan that gives you 4 different types of reading each day (Old Testament History, Wisdom Books and Isaiah, Gospels, Epistles and Acts).  There are 25 days of planned reading each month to keep you on pace, but allow a little bit of catch up if you get behind a day or two.
